The main purpose of Communication Unit is to execute and communicate all the programmes and projects undertaken by the institution, including Mayoral Outreach Programmes /Speakers Community Participation Programmes/MMCs and Council Programmes and all departmental calendars of events.
The functions of Communication Unit are as follows:
- To provide a clear communication structure to ensure effective management of information flow, both internally and externally.
- To encourage and promote community participation in the government wide planning processes.
- To market and promote the image of the municipality.
- To improve awareness about municipality’s programmes within communities.
- Management of the Office of the Executive Mayor activities, and communicating of Municipal activities / events
